BIENVENIDOS AL MUNDO DE LAS SOMBRAS (comics de un noctámbulo cafeinómano)

Celebrando, y recibiendo con toda la buena onda de siempre la nueva creación de los colegas de Inmortal Comic Universo (Martin Sarlo). Desde Cacique Comics le rendimos honores a TESLA, el nuevo personaje de nuestro universo primo.
En la imagen podemos apreciar a nuestro personaje Shockpulse junto a nuestra versión (esperamos haberlo logrado bien) de Tesla.
Creadores de superhéroes argentinos independientes habemos muchos en este hermoso país, que nunca se acabe esta magia.
Figuras de Piel de Lobo ya hay varias (ninguna desenmascarado), de diseño propio y ajeno. Pero debo confesar que siempre sentí una singular preferencia por la escala pequeña (10 cms. en promedio), clásica, con cinco puntos de articulación. Y ya tenía bastante tiempo queriendo hacer una línea de figuras de los personajes de SOMBRAS así. Y si bien, además de dibujante, escritor y diseñador, también me doy bastante maña con la escultura, por qué no?
Respuesta: Por el tamaño, yo esculpo en grande, trabajar en este tamaño tan menor es muuuuy complicado. Abandoné todos los modelos de cuerpo que tenía hechos a mano y busqué en el cajón de juguetes de mis cachorros alguna figura del tamaño indicado para customizar, y salió esto. El Piel de Lobo llevó más trabajo porque involucró mucha escultura. No están perfectas porque hace siglos que no customizo y nunca lo había hecho en esta escala, pero estoy muy contento con el resultado. Y como fui a la juguetería y compré TODAS las figuras que tenían de estas, pronto vendrán muchos más personajes de SOMBRAS.
There are already several Piel de Lobo figures (none unmasked), of our own and others' design. But I must confess that I always felt a singular preference for the small scale (10 cm on average), classic, with five points of articulation. And I had been wanting to make a line of figures of the SOMBRAS characters like that for quite some time. And although, in addition to being an artist, writer and designer, I am also quite skilled at sculpture, why not?
Answer: Because of the size, I sculpt large, working in this smaller size is too complicated. I abandoned all the body models I had made by hand and looked in my cubs' toy drawer for a figure of the right size to customize, and this came out. The Piel de Lobo took more work because it involved a lot of sculpture. They are not perfect because I haven't customized in ages and I have never done it on this scale, but I am very happy with the result. And since I went to the toy store and bought ALL the figures they had of these, many more SOMBRAS characters will be coming soon.
EL PROCESO
THE PROCESS
Primero compramos algunas figuras.
First we bought some figures.
Desenfundamos nuestro arsenal.
We unholstered our arsenal.
(Acrílicos, pintura para telas, tijeras, pinceles, cinta de enmascarar de papel, estecas, pinceles y punteros de silicona, cinseles y carvers, cutter, porcelana fría y algunos otros rebusques)

Y esta pequeña joyita, delicada como una flor, pero contundente como un Barret 5.0.
And this little gem, delicate like a flower, but forceful like a Barret 5.0.
Nuestra meta, hacer figuras de acción de estos dos queridos personajes, Piel de Lobo y Darklight de nuestro comic SOMBRAS.
Our goal, to make action figures of these two beloved characters, Piel de Lobo and Darklight from our comic SOMBRAS.
Estas fueron las figuras que nos sirvieron de lienzo.
These were the figures that served as our canvas.
(THOR - HULK - SUPERMAN - BLACK PANTHER) Necesitábamos este cuerpo para la figura de Darklight por su coloración, aunque las figuras son luego pintadas, es por precaución ante el desgaste en las articulaciones.
We needed this body for the figure of Darklight because of its coloring, although the figures are later painted, it is as a precaution against wear and tear on the joints.
Utilizamos este rostro base para Darklight.
We used this base face for Darklight.
Nuestro cuerpo base para Piel de Lobo fue éste.
Our base body for Piel de Lobo was this one.
De esta (horrenda) figura, sólo necesitábamos las manos, pero lo descubriríamos más adelante.
From this (horrendous) figure, we only needed the hands, but we would discover it later.
Empezamos estirando partes del cuerpo base de Piel de Lobo, brazos, piernas y torso.
We started by stretching parts of Piel de Lobo's base body, arms, legs and torso.
(de paso le cortamos el pelo y lo afeitamos un poco, para ir probando)

Cubrimos con porcelana fría las partes alargadas, y aprovechamos a llevar a los muchachos a la peluquería.
We covered the elongated parts with cold porcelain, and took the opportunity to take the boys to the hairdresser.
(Boludo son Rolo Puente y Carlín Calvo con una toalla en la cabeza)
Pintamos esta cara para descubrir que no nos sentíamos muy conformes con la misma.
We painted this face to discover that we did not feel very satisfied with it.
La figura de Darklight ya pintada con la capa de primer porque no requería más escultura, en cambio la de Piel de Lobo sí.
Darklight's figure was already painted with a primer coat because it did not require more sculpture, while Piel de Lobo's figure did.
Empezamos a darle forma al torso hiper musculoso de Piel de Lobo.
We begun to shape Piel de Lobo's hyper-muscled torso.
Con el torso listo, esculpimos los brazos enormes del personaje y comenzamos a agregarle detalles del traje, como el cinto, las tiras de las piernas y las estructuras básicas de las botas. A la figura de Darklight apenas le agregamos las cintas de los guantes.
With the torso ready, we sculpted the character's huge arms and begun adding details of the suit, such as the belt, leg stripes, and basic boot structures. We just added the bands on the gloves to the Darklight figure.
Fue en este punto que nos dimos cuenta que las manitos quedaban demasiado desproporcionadas con semejantes brazos.
It was at this point that we realized that the little hands were too disproportionate to such arms.
Cambiamos a las manos de Hulk que combinaban mejor, y construimos meticulosamente el cinturón lleno de compartimentos que lleva Piel de Lobo (y sí usa).
We switched to Hulk's hands that matched better, and meticulously built the compartment-filled belt that Piel de Lobo wears (and does use).
Con el cinturón listo, agregamos más detalles a las botas. Y pusimos además los flecos en el pantalón.
With the belt ready, we added more details to the boots. And we also put the fringes on the pants.
Si existe una pieza definitoria e infaltable en nuestro personaje, es su super larga trenza.
If there is a defining and inevitable piece in our character, it is his super long braid.
Darklight seguía esperando con cara de "Y, facha?"
Darklight was still waiting with a face like "So, dude?"
La carita dulce de Thor realmente no alcanzaba a expresar toda la fiereza nativa de Piel de Lobo, así que tuvimos que esculpir de cero un rostro más acorde.
Thor's sweet little face didn't really express all the Piel de Lobo´s native fierceness, so we had to sculpt a more appropriate face from scratch.
Esta cara bien fiera sí da más miedo (lástima que la pintura se llevó gran parte).
This very ugly face sure is scarier (too bad the paint took away a lot of it).
Empezamos a aplicar los blancos a grosso modo.
We begun to apply the whites roughly.
Las figuras ya terminadas, para no hacerla tan larga, siempre harán falta correcciones.
The already finished figures, in order not to make it so long, they will always need corrections.
De lo que partimos y adonde llegamos.
From what we started and where we arrived.
Los muchachos se miran mientras esperan que se seque el barniz (ojo porque lleva días, y manipular las figuras antes de tiempo hace que se ensucien).
The boys look at each other while they wait for the varnish to dry (be careful because it takes days, and handling the figures ahead of time causes them to get dirty).
Escala 1/24, son 10 centímetros en promedio, 0.75 pulgadas, excepto Piel de Lobo que como es mucho más alto tiene dos centímetros más.
Scale 1/24, it is 10 centimeters on average, 0.75 inches, except Piel de Lobo, since he is much taller, has two centimeters more.
Darklight tiene ese look entre heróico y amenzante; Piel de Lobo parece un oficinista de paga mínima mirándose en el espejo del baño del laburo preguntándose cuánto falta para salir.
Darklight has that look between heroic and threatening; Piel de Lobo looks like a minimum-paid office worker looking in the bathroom mirror at work wondering how long it will take to get out.
TERMINAMOS...
Otro hermoso proyecto de Cacique Comics relacionado a nuestro comic SOMBRAS, la Serie 1 de nuestra línea de figuras de acción (custom por supuesto), en la que presentamos 8 increíbles figuras representando a nuestros personajes más significativos, tal cual los vimos en el Volumen Blanco, y a saber, seis Figuras Regulares: Piel de Lobo (con máscara incluída), Darklight, Kalavera (con capa de tela), Kio, Shockpulse y Laughter (con el bolsito y las pelotitas explosivas), una Figura Variante:Kio en su versión blindada, y una mega Figura Especial, de un tamaño y un peso impresionantes, aquél que muchos llaman Imparable, aunque hemos aclarado infinidad de veces que ese no es su nombre, pero que NO lo vamos a revelar aún.
Al ser un proyecto personal y realizado de manera completamente amateur, las figuras están lejos de ser perfectas, pero considerando los tamaños de las mismas y los escasos materiales empleados, estamos muy orgullosos de lo conseguido, ya les mostraremos más.
Tal vez algún día, si hay ganas y tiempo, nos animemos a realizar una Serie 2, con algunos personajes más de SOMBRAS, que acá faltaron muchos.

Another beautiful project from Cacique Comics related to our comic SOMBRAS, Series 1 of our line of action figures (custom of course), in which we present 8 incredible figures representing our most significant characters, just as we saw them in the Volumen Blanco, and namely, six Regular Figures:Piel de Lobo (with mask included), Darklight, Kalavera (with a cloth cape), Kio, Shockpulse and Laughter (with the bag and the explosive balls), a Variant Figure:Kio in his version armored, and a mega Special Figure, of impressive size and weight, the one that many call Imparable, although we have clarified countless times that that is not his name, but that we are NOT going to reveal it yet.
Being a personal project and carried out in a completely amateur manner, the figures are far from being perfect, but considering their sizes and the limited materials used, we are very proud of what we achieved, we will show you more.
Maybe one day, if there is desire and time, we will be encouraged to make a Series 2, with some more characters from SOMBRAS, of which many were missing here.
Así, más o menos, se vería el cartón de las figuras, recordemos que es todo imaginario nomás, para jugar sanamente y matar el tiempo. Opiniones? Frente y revés, obviamente incompleto porque todavía no hicimos las figuras jajaja, pero qué les parece? Sugerencias?

Recuerdan esa vez que el Capitán América y El Santo lucharon contra Spider-Man...? Cómo que no...?, y sí, es entendible, porque no ocurrió en ningún medio oficial, ni en los comics ni en ninguna adaptación autorizada, pero hace algunos años en Turquía, ignorando completamente el concepto de propiedad intelectual, estrenaron una película donde Spider-Man es un villano y asesino, con un traje rojo y verde, y una mascara sin ojos, con maquillaje blanco y, por alguna extraña razón, unas cejas extremadamente tupidas y largas. Dentro de todo lo bizarro que rodea a esta versión bootleg, es innegable que es definitivamente singular, y eso le garantiza un lugar dentro de nuestra colección. Y así nos vamos desde las versiones puramente canon y nos aventuramos un poquito a jugar con estas cositas locas que le han sucedido a nuestro estimado trepamuros. A nosotros nos encanta contar con este nuevo Modelo P.A.F. pero entendemos si ustedes consideran que éste no es necesario, igualmente esperamos que les guste.

Remember that time Captain America and El Santo fought Spider-Man...? How come you don´t...?, yes, it is understandable, because it did not happen in any official media, neither in the comics nor in any authorized adaptation, but a few years ago in Turkey, completely ignoring the concept of intellectual property, they released a film where Spider-Man is a villain and murderer, with a red and green suit, and a mask without eyes, with white makeup and, for some strange reason, extremely thick and long eyebrows. Within all the bizarreness that surrounds this bootleg version, it is undeniable that it is definitely unique, and that guarantees it a place in our collection. And so we go from the purely canon versions and venture a little to play with these crazy things that have happened to our esteemed wall-crawler. We love having this new P.A.F. Model but we understand if you consider that this is not necessary, we still hope you like it.
